Brokers

Below is a list of brokers that I have experience trading and investing with. I do not recommend any specific broker. Please always do your own research when it comes to brokers you send your hard earned cash to for trading and investing.

Table of Contents

Prop Firms

The5ers

I trade with the proprietary trading firm The5ers. A prop firm let’s you trade the firms money and will give you part of the profit you make.

In order to be eligible for this arrangement you will need to pay for a challenge / evaluation that you will need to pass. You will need to stick to some strict trading rules and you will have a max draw down that you cannot breach. If you do breach the max draw down or any trading rules, then you will loose the account and you will have to buy another evaluation.

Most prop firms let you trade on demo accounts and will honor the payout of your profits. This means that your payouts will come from other traders buying and losing evaluations. Also if you are consistently profitable a prop firm can of course copy your trades in the live markets and make money that way.

Bottom line is that you should only consider trading with a prop firm once you are consistently profitable within the max draw down.

Forex and CFDs

XM / XM Global

I trade with the broker XM. I have accounts at their Cysec regulated / European branch and at their Global branch. The XM Global branch offers higher leverage, so you do not have to hold all your capital in the account. Also it is open for residents from many different countries. The European branch offers a zero account, which is a commission based account with spreads that are zero for many FX pairs.

Stocks and ETFs

Trading212

Trading212

If you want to invest in stocks and ETFs, then please have look at this broker. I auto invest here on a monthly basis in a couple of ETFs in a set division. This is called a pie.

Trading212 has the following benefits:

  • commission free investing
  • buy stocks instantly
  • auto invest with pies
  • buy for as little as 1 euro with fractional shares
  • earn interest on your portfolio
  • hold 13 global currencies
  • earn interest on available cash
  • directly access your available cash via debit card

Also:

  • trade long and short with leverage using CFDs on FX, indices, shares, commodities, crypto and more
  • trade crypto 24/7

However I prefer XM for swing trading FX and CFDs, but you could also do this at Trading212.

Charts

I use charting that is independent of the platform I execute trades on. I mostly use Tradingview for my chart analyses. As an alternative, you can also use platforms like Investing.com, Metatrader, or CTrader. However, to use these last two platforms you will at least need to open a demo account at a broker that offers the platform and the usage of these demo accounts is often limited in time.

I recommend both Investing.com as well as Tradingview, because:

  • Both are free and easy to get started.
  • Both have excellent paid upgrades for the more demanding trader.
  • Both are independent resources.
  • Both offer charting, news, economic calendars, screeners, trading ideas, a trading community, all in one place.
  • Both offer tools on a wide variety of instruments, like stocks, forex, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, commodities, precious metals, and cryptocurrencies.
  • Tradingview even offers a replay function that will let you backtest your strategies.

In one word: both are excellent in my opinion.

If you are considering Tradingview, then please use one of my affiliate links.
